Beach umbrellas
Beach umbrellas bring to mind thoughts of aqua-blue water,
cloudless blue skies, green palm trees, white sand beaches and a gorgeous
summer day! The original beach umbrellas came in colors of the rainbow,
because summer was all about color and life and happiness. Maybe that’s
why people love to see a beach umbrella – it brings that sense
of carefree happiness back to you, even if it’s only for a minute.
Beach umbrellas now come in all kinds of styles and colors and materials.
If you prefer a simpler, sophisticated style, you can go for a beach
umbrella that is similar to a patio umbrella. They are made out of canvas
and usually come in a solid color such as dark green, cream, red, blue,
or yellow. They tend to be a little heavier to carry, so they are not
recommended for visiting the beach, but they are perfect for the poolside.
Many companies call them patio umbrellas, but some companies refer to
them as beach umbrellas with a canvas cover.
Some beach umbrellas are made with a polyester type of material. Most
of these types of umbrellas come with an SPF factor of 100. If sun protection
is a factor, then you will want to look for a beach umbrella that has
an SPF factor of 100 or more. These beach umbrellas are 6 feet in diameter,
and around 4 feet tall. They are also very economical starting at $30.
There is even a new type of umbrella called a Solartech Umbrella which
has two layers of silver, reflecting polyester that has an SPF factor
of 130. The two layers of material allow the breezes to blow through,
keeping you cool and also help to keep the umbrella stable in the wind.
So, even on the hottest days, this umbrella, according to the manufacturer,
will keep you up to 15 degrees cooler than everyone else.
If sun protection is not as important as style, then you might enjoy
the series of beach umbrellas that have been designed to look either
like a flower or like a palm tree. These brightly-colored and whimsical
designs are sure to make splash at any beach or beach party. Usually
made of a poly-cotton material and standing about 6 feet tall, these
gorgeous beach umbrellas are lightweight and sure to make you the center
of attention on the beach! They are also economical starting at $40.
Unfortunately, they only have an SPF factor of 35.
Cleaning beach umbrellas is simple. Usually, you can rinse them off
with a hose or with a wet washcloth. So, when heading to the beach this
summer, be sure to pack that beach umbrella and you will find yourself
spending many more days at the beach!
